On October 21st my stepmom, Anne, abruptly passed . 15 days later, my dad peacefully followed.

My philosophy of voting is always about winning for democracy in all cases. That happens when we voters evaluate the candidates on the bases of (1) they possess the character that — when elected—they will defend and protect the Constitution of the United States, which, after all, is required by their oaths of office, and (2) possess the experience to do the work required for the office they are seeking.

It was amazing to me to start to learn about what this mind is and how it affects us, and why it's ruling us, and why that makes us suffer. And it comes down, actually, to our identifications. The baseline of why we suffer is any moment we identify with the mind's interpretation.

I literally couldn’t find anyone to have a conversation with that felt like it could be a give-and-take. It was either "they’re telling me"—or a shutdown. . .

How many times is there someone sitting right across from me who has the same feeling I have and I don't know it yet, because I haven't realized my own fear--or joy, or whatever it is. And so I don't recognize theirs.

We're opening up ourselves to ourselves--to find out what's really deep inside, and find purpose.
